Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Pawseen Pvt. Ltd. is a private technology company registered in Nepal, operating the Pawseen platform at www.pawseen.com and the Pawseen mobile application. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “Pawseen” all refer to Pawseen Pvt. Ltd.

This policy is written to comply with the Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) of Nepal and to reflect international best practice where Nepali law does not yet speak directly to a specific point.

2. What information we collect

2.1 When you report a stray animal

• Location data. GPS coordinates if you grant location permission, or approximate location from your IP address or mobile cell tower if you send a report by SMS.
• Photographs. Images of the animal you upload. We discourage including identifiable people in these photos.
• Contact information. Your name, phone number, or email so a volunteer can follow up.
• Description text. Whatever you type to describe the situation.

2.2 When you adopt, sponsor, or volunteer

• Account information. Name, email, phone number, and your city or ward.
• Verification. For adoption and volunteer roles only, we may request a government-issued ID to verify identity. We do not store the ID image after verification is complete.
• Payment information. Handled entirely by our payment processor and the partner shelter. Pawseen does not see or store card numbers, bank account numbers, or wallet credentials.

2.3 Automatic information

• Basic device and browser information (type, language, timezone)
• Pages you visit on pawseen.com and approximate time spent
• Error and crash logs if something breaks

3. Why we collect it

We use the information above only for:

• Routing rescue reports to the nearest appropriate shelter or volunteer
• Contacting you about the animal you reported, adopted, or sponsored
• Producing anonymised public-health statistics on stray populations and bite incidents
• Preventing fraud and platform abuse
• Sending you monthly updates about a dog you sponsor (you can turn these off)

4. What we never do

• We never sell personal data to any third party
• We never share personal data with advertisers
• We never publish your name, phone number, or location without your explicit permission
• We never use your data to train AI models for any purpose outside of operating Pawseen

5. Who sees your information

When you submit a rescue report, the following parties may see the relevant parts of that report:

• The partner shelter to which the report is routed (KAT Centre, Animal Nepal, Snehi, Sneha’s Care, HART Nepal, or another verified partner)
• The volunteer who accepts the dispatch, once accepted
• Pawseen staff responsible for moderation and platform safety

Municipal and public-health authorities may receive aggregated, anonymised statistics. Individual reports are never shared with authorities except where required by a lawful court order under Nepali law.

6. How long we keep information

• Rescue reports: 5 years, for public-health trend analysis, then anonymised
• Adoption and sponsorship records: retained while the relationship is active, plus 3 years
• Volunteer records: retained while active, plus 2 years after last dispatch
• Payment logs: 7 years, as required by Nepali tax law
• Marketing email list: until you unsubscribe

7. Your rights

At any time, you may:

• Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of any information that is wrong
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications

Requests will be actioned within 30 days. Write to hello@pawseen.com with the subject line “Privacy request”.

8. Children

Pawseen is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If a parent or guardian discovers that we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If the change is material, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The “last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
